re: March 4 election for Russia: Is it just a judgment call when one uses the newly formed country of Russia's horoscope, after the dissolution of USSR, or whether one uses still the USSR horoscope that came about after WWI ? We're in a conundrum in Latvia, for example, with varied horoscopes being used, one of them going back to the Republic's first chart in 1918...
A. I think the June 12, 1990 chart is the most relevant, but you might also pay attention to common degree areas between the various charts, as well as planetary combinations to chart cycles.
The Uranus-Pluto square in June aligns with Russia's Mars-UR square, so whatever happens in March is only the beginning of major internal upheaval, it seems to me.
re: corporations - Well, looks like coporations as people will be with us for quite a while. I was kinda hopin' that the broad, legal (over)reach by corporations via the Supremes might have instigated a political backlash that would curb corporate power, but not in the near future, obviously. Thank you once again for fulfilling on a topic I've been curious about!
re: Gingrich - Fox commentator on Newt - arguing he's make a good leader because he talked women into being with him even though he's obviously a jerk. (and to top it, both the first and second wives had gotten a diagnosis of a possibly terminal disease just before he bugs out their marriages):

re: Iraq - I was hoping that you would post the chart for the US out of Iraq. From what I could tell it was December 15, 2011 13:00 Bagdad local time. Neptune is at 28 Aquarius 30. Compare to the other big disaster on the US Moon with the BP Oil Spill where Neptune was at 28 Aquarius 50 according to the chart in your archives. I think this
makes a very convincing case for the true position of the US natal moon...at 28 Aquarius and some minutes between 30 and 50 and could be
used to backtime the true Ascendant of the US chart. I always enjoy reading your columns and wish you the best for the next year...no matter what it brings.
A. Currently, as the troops withdraw, transiting Saturn is exactly square the US Pluto, the ruler of the Scorpio Rising chart. Neptune at 28 AQ is perfectly trioctile (sesquisquare) the U.S. Sun. This action - withdrawing from Iraq - was instigated by Obama, ie, American leadership, which is symbolized by the U.S. Sun, not Moon. The invasion began on Mar 19, 2003 when the progressed US Sun was at 28 AQ, so Neptune passing over this point is a significant ending to this Iraq cycle.

Pluto Stimulates the U.S. Economy
Last Friday the Labor Department reported that the U.S. gained 243,000 jobs in January, and revised upwards its estimates for the previous two months. The unemployment rate fell a notch to 8.3 percent, which sent the Dow to its highest level in over four years. Will the economic rebound continue? What can we expect for the rest of the year?
Astrologers differ widely on this. According to many financial astrologers, the markets should be turning south any day now due to two important indicators. The first of these is the Mars retrograde phase, which began on January 23 and lasts until April 13. The second is Saturn’s retrograde station on February 6. Both of these have historically signaled market reversals. For some reason, that is not happening.
And the reason may be that transiting Pluto is favorably aspecting the U.S. Scorpio Ascendant, as noted in item #2 of February’s top five astro-events. Pluto goes on to form a sextile to the U.S. Ceres on February 11th, which is also favorable for the economy and job growth. Pluto will be hovering in this degree zone for all of 2012, which continues to promote a healthy economy, and consequently, Obama’s re-election.
However, there’s a huge unknown shaping up in the powerful Uranus-Pluto square, which first becomes exact this coming June. Political, economic, and/or military developments around this time could upset the U.S. and global economy. A taste of what we might expect may come into view as early as February 20th, when transiting Pluto forms a quincunx to the U.S. Uranus. While the U.S. Uranus in the 8th house may refer to technology businesses, it’s also aligned with Antares, the red star associated with military conflict.
Israel Tempts Fate
Washington Post columnist David Ignatius, who is traveling with Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, wrote a column last week that stunned many political analysts. “Panetta believes there is strong likelihood that Israel will strike Iran in April, May or June,” wrote Ignatius. Israel fears that Iran will soon enter “the zone of immunity”, when it has accumulated enough enriched uranium to build a nuclear weapon.
Israel’s horoscope (May 14, 1948; 4:37 pm; Tel Aviv) features Pluto in the 10th house square the Lunar Nodes, a powerful configuration that reflects its instinctive concerns about survival. Many traumatic or disastrous events occur when transiting Pluto squares the Lunar Nodes, or a natal Pluto-Lunar Node configuration is activated. What makes this line-up exceptionally alarming at this time is that Pluto has progressed into the exact square (orb 0º05’).
Twice Israel has attacked the nuclear programs of hostile neighbors: Iraq on June 7, 1981 and Syria on September 6, 2007. During the 1981 incident, Israel’s progressed Vesta (signifying secret military ops) was precisely conjunct Pluto. The 2007 strike unfolded as Israel’s progressed Mars was closely octile natal Pluto while its progressed Moon in the 12th house of secret activity was sextile Pluto.
Israel correctly calculated that there would be little or no backlash, and is hoping the same will be true this time. Currently, Israel’s progressed Moon is at 11º Sagittarius. Advancing at the rate of one degree per month, the progressed Moon will trine natal Pluto in March, and then the critical progressed Pluto on April 11. Meanwhile, the first of seven squares between Uranus and Pluto will take place in June, when it becomes increasingly likely that unintended consequences could lead to all-out war.
Crashed UFO Found in Baltic Sea
When Neptune entered Pisces last week, a flurry of fascinating discoveries piqued the public’s imagination. In Spain, experts removed a black varnish from an old canvas to discover a copy of Leonardo’s famous Mona Lisa, evidently painted by one of his students. In Maine, a treasure hunter announced that he located a British merchant ship carrying $3 billion worth of platinum bars – the most valuable sunken treasure ever discovered.
But the discovery evoking the most buzz came from the bottom of the Baltic Sea where an apparent crashed UFO was photographed by a Swedish expedition team. The sonar image of the unnaturally round object was initially taken last July, and included a rigid tail 400 meters long which suggested skid marks. Some observers compare the shape to Han Solo’s Millennium Falcon in Star Wars.
Last week, CNN revealed that the team found a second similarly shaped object nearby, which stoked the current debate about what was really down there. Some speculate that it’s a marine version of Stonehenge, or a remnant from the lost continent of Atlantis, or a Russian warship. Neptune, as the Lord of the Seas, becomes exceptionally strong in its own sign Pisces. As technology improves, we’re likely to find more wrecks and other secrets hidden beneath the waves.
Neptune changing signs has brought revelations, amazement, and for a few, unimaginable wealth. As Neptune lifts the veil, sensitive people become far more intuitive or even psychic. This Spring, the Swedish expedition will return to the secret site to get a better look. This coincides with the paradigm-busting square between Uranus and Pluto; it might very well indicate that something from out of this world is coming into view.
