re: who will win - Your insights into the upcoming election+Mercury Rx were insightful. I didn't think of that. But, I feel Obama will win handily because America wants its first black president to have a 2nd term. He will be forgiven much.
re: who will win - I think that we must also remember that Obama's secret strength is his ability to beat the odds (Jupiter conjunct Saturn in 12th house), and thereby best his opposition (Saturn inconjunct Uranus, and trine Mars in 7th house). Ever see videos of Obama shooting swish hoops, one after another, from way back around mid-court? First African American President in our history, in a country with the ruling class (ruling dynasty?) being of all northern European extraction. I continue to enjoy "Neptune Cafe", and your other writings.
re: who will win - I enjoy your insight very much. Your latest comments on the election are thought provoking. In looking at the dates of National Conventions, it appears that the Moon will be void all day on Obama's nomination day. I have read that Presidential nominees on a void moon always lose. Do you have any thoughts on that?
re: who will win - In your last column, you predicted a Romney win because among other things, Saturn will transit Scorpio during 2013, indicating that "voters turn conservative and elect a business-oriented Republican." However, I would argue that Romney is more of a radical than a Conservative. He, along with the GOP, is running on a platform of radical change, such as repealing ACA, voucherizing Medicare, reforming social security, reforming our tax code to benefit the rich, and rolling back most environmental and financial regulations. To me Obama is more of the status quo. So wouldn't Saturn in Scorpio be related more to actual conservative policies rather than party labels?
re: Election day snafus - Or the infamous computer hacking/vote tampering that SURELY went on in the past 2 elections! There was even an Ohio court case brought, and Karl Rove was heavily implicated, along with an Ohio IT guy whose private plane, with him piloting, went down on his way back from D.C. after supposedly telling the Bush PTB that he would testify about the vote manipulation. Does Mars have anything to do with stuff like this? "Computer wars" or something? ;-)
re: Meditations for Obama - I too am psychic and do healing meditations for people. Can continuing meditations, surrounding Obama with light help protect him from all the negativity surrounding him and help him get re-elected?
re: U.S. empire - Love your work, to me you are the best in the field. I wonder though why not one astrologer has written about the end of the time as World-power for the USA. Brittain held it for over 300 years. Spain ruled the world for awhile and who can forget Rome. But not one held it past a certain time. Maybe the USA will hunker down and do what it does best, do the Phoenix-Thing. The crowning achievement of any Scorpio! But what do you think? Believing in a Scorpio ascendent, Pluto coming full circle migjht make it happen. Thanks for all the interesting work you do, I have learned a lot.
re: the Venus occultation - In your recent columns you have been repeating the same mistake that I and others have been making: that Venus is occulting the Sun this June. This is a Venus transit of the Sun, not an occultation, according to Wikipedia's definition. This makes sense when you think about the meaning of the word "occult," which implies hidden. Venus is too small to hide much of the Sun.
re: the Venus occultation - You mentioned Venus' occultation of the sun in your recent Newscope article, and it got me thinking. What does this signature mean for someone born under it? My son was born during the last Venus occultation, and as he approaches his 8th birthday this Venus occultation will make a "return" of sorts. Is his life destined to be marked in some way by this rare Venus event? And will the upcoming Venus return mean anything significant for him?
A. I don't imagine the Venus occultation in itself will be especially significant for an 8-year old. However, if you're concerned, you should get a reading for your son to get the whole picture. The activation of a boy's Sun is often expressed by events in his father's life.

The Vatican’s Predator Priests
Last week a Roman Catholic Church official was criminally convicted for failing to alert the local community or the police about known predator priests. Although 16,000 claims have been made against the Catholic clergy since 1950, and the sexual abuse scandal erupted a full decade ago, Monsignor William Lynn from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia is only the first U.S. church official found guilty.
The video above shows an unusually animated Ellison. Click here for a more professional presentation on cloud computing: Ellison/Oracle/cloud
The Vatican’s horoscope (June 7, 1929; 11:00 am; Vatican City, Italy) accurately depicts the predator priest problem as well as the timing for this historic conviction. Most significantly, Mars is located in the 12th house, which is associated with spirituality as well as secret activity. Mars here may be seen as a symbol for monkish self-denial, but the close trioctile to Saturn is a clear signature for repressed sexuality.
The Vatican Mars is under further pressure from the squares to a Chiron-Ceres conjunction in Taurus and Juno in Scorpio. Mars square Ceres can be seen as the priest who supports the flock as if he were a parent, or a “father”. Add in Chiron’s wounding nature and we can see how some priests used their role as caregiver to manipulate young boys into committing shameful sexual acts. The Mars-Juno square describes the tension between celibacy and marriage.
Juno denied can be terribly vengeful, which we have seen in the myriad lawsuits against predator priests and the cardinals who protect them. Currently, the Vatican’s progressed Moon opposes natal Saturn, which describes the judgment against the church authority. The recent solar and lunar eclipses landed right on the Vatican’s Midheaven and Sun respectively, priming the Catholic Church for this stunning fall from grace. It happened as transiting Jupiter, the planet associated with religion and law, passed over the Solar Eclipse point.
Top Five Astro-Events for July
1. Ceres conjoins Jupiter in Gemini on the 9th, but is in effect from the 4th through 13th. This auspicious combination favors large social gatherings, sharing of ideas, travel with friends and family, and receiving and transmitting visions for a better world. Build social connections over food and drink, and share good information with your network.
2. Mars activates the Uranus-Pluto square on the 17th and 18th, but will pick up their vibe as soon as it enters Libra on the 3rd. This extremely dynamic T-square will likely bring conflict in many forms: arguments, showdowns, acts of violence, military confrontations, explosions, and technological accidents or catastrophes. Many people will be feeling edgy under this influence. Watch out for crazy, impulsive acts from unstable individuals.
3. Mercury turns retrograde in Leo on the 14th as it forms a sextile to Venus in Gemini. This combination is uncharacteristically favorable for a Mercury station, bringing expressions of kindness and a highly romantic mood from the 12th through 15th. Since Juno and Uranus are also stationing now, watch for odd synchronicities and “changing of the guard” scenarios, where one person leaves just as another arrives.
4. Jupiter in Gemini aspects the Uranus-Pluto square from the 17th through 27th, expanding this underlying outer planet dynamic. The simultaneous interaction of these three outer planets will likely bring historic military, political and cultural events. Big money will be on the move as billionaires, central banks, governments, and international corporations place their bets in a rapidly shifting global economy.
5. Chiron in Pisces is activated by Jupiter and Saturn during the last half of July. Jupiter’s square (20th - 25th) may bring renewed hope to lost souls and an intellectual framing of spiritual issues, but watch out for traffic accidents and over-confidence. Saturn’s trioctile (17th - 31st) may bring up relationship issues, feelings of victimization, or lack of heart-felt rapport with significant others. Make adjustments where necessary.
Larry Ellison Buys an Hawaiian Island
Last Wednesday, the governor of Hawaii announced that Oracle’s CEO Larry Ellison bought Lanai, which at 141 square miles, is Hawaii’s smallest inhabited island. Observers estimate the price tag was around $500 to $600 million – pocket change for the third-wealthiest person in America. Ellison enjoys spending his money, flaunting it like a playboy – he drives fancy cars, woos beautiful women, and flies his own jet.
With his Sun and Moon in Leo, Larry Ellison (August 17, 1944; 5:50 am*; Manhattan, NY) is the archetypal Leo. His Moon conjoins Pluto, giving him an instinctive understanding of and craving for command and control. His Sun-Ceres conjunction adds a paternal sense of pride in his work and creations, which is most evident in his primary professional role as the long-time CEO of Oracle.
Ellison’s enjoyment of the best things in life can be seen in his Venus-Jupiter conjunction, which is located in the perfectionist sign of Virgo. Since this combination squares a Juno-Uranus conjunction in dualistic, restless Gemini, one can imagine that he doesn’t find happiness with one woman. In fact, he’s been married and divorced four times. A Mercury-Mars conjunction is also found in Virgo, bestowing a sharp tongue and a strong work ethic.
Regarding his speculative birth time, one validation is that his Leo and Virgo planets are clustered around the Leo Ascendant, which fits with his self-absorbed personality. More specifically, his progressed Midheaven was conjunct his 10th house Uranus when he founded Oracle in 1977. Ellison’s biographer thinks it likely that he will do something “epic and grand” with Lanai. Summarizing Ellison’s majestic Leo style, he notes that the only difference between God and Ellison is that “God doesn’t think he’s Larry Ellison.”
* Ellison’s birth time is unknown, but he named his yacht – the eighth largest in the world – the Rising Sun, which gives us a clue about his birth time. A 5:50 am speculative time puts Taurus at the Midheaven, and Venus, its ruling planet, on the cusp of the 2nd house of money.
