re: neptunecafe - I really like reading and thinking about your articles; they offer the best information on the internet. Recently I read about the asteroid Juno. Please help me understand it better in my chart.
A. Juno and Venus are both about relationships. Juno is more interested in forming a long term commitment than Venus, while Venus is interested in sex, romance, and intimacy. If Venus and Juno are harmoniously aspected in your chart, you can marry for love, otherwise commitments may suffer from wandering affections. You can get a full description of your natal Juno and the other three major asteroids (Ceres, Vesta, and Pallas) by ordering an Asteroid Goddess Report.
re: Rahm Emanuel - Take a look at Rahm Emanuel's chart. He says he is running for re-election in February 2015. He has to file petitions at the end of 2014. How does his chart look for re-election?

re: Tea Party - The current articles at NeptuneCafe are more indicative of a well written article with less COMMENTARY compared to other articles around the net that had me so dismayed---until you get to the Tea party nasty-ass comments. As a former upstate (Communist state of) New York Tea Party Founder and Leader during the 2010 mid-terms, I have to wonder how many Tea Party people like myself you may know. If you met me in person, would you hate me and call me the kinds of things you call the Tea Party?
re: Tea Party - I have gone searching for astrologers who do political astrology...but have been sorely disappointed so far because of the liberal/progressives being so hateful towards anything that they don't like which is usually anything about FREE MARKET CAPITALISM, Freedom, Constitutional, etc. They are all for SOCIAL JUSTICE which has a communist history of its own.

re: Ted Cruz - The stellium of 8th house planets (3 of them in Scorpio, natural ruler of the 8th house) can indicate he would do well with and for other people's money. But can it also lead to life-threatening plots against him? Cruz does have 1st house chiron (which I find to be a little worrisome) opposed 7th house of open enemies Uranus but it is not quite in orb.
Yes Sun Pluto can have a 'fascination' with power. But Cruz' 'fascination with power' may indicate his ability to work successfully with power and his 7th house/Libra placement of planets shows indomitable ability towards discernment and fairness - and holding the line.
I suspect that balancing the budget and refusing the debt ceiling will be next on his list - which might upset a lot of people who want the 'free' goodies to continue, caring not what debt they straddle future generations with - but we will see.
A. Please note that Cruz's birth time is unknown, and so I use 12 noon by default. This means we don't know which houses his various planets fall in...
re: NewsScope slant - why is it that there are no really fair astrologers out there anywhere??? I was hoping you were different. the leftist slant on EVERTHING is such a disappointment. You have good insight astrologically but then wreck it by inserting your hatred of conservatives.
A. I know, it's really difficult. I go the same reaction from Democrats when I forecast that Romney would win.
re: slant - I really enjoy your site and send the link to many people frequently. You would be a person I would trust on the astrology of the US and how it will probably be consumed for the next 100 or so years under socialists/communists /progressives----but only IF you would write it with NO SLANT whatsoever. You are better than the rest, that is certain. As a metaphysical conservative - I am an anomaly. But, I still think that there is an answer someplace within astrology for why this is happening.... hoping you will go in depth at some point SOON on what our future may hold as foretold by the heavens.

re: Miley Cyrus data - Love your Neptune Café blog.... What is your source for that Miley Cyrus' birthday? Astrodatabank has 6:37 am, but it looks like a solar rising chart to me. Their source is some comment on facebook.

re: election - How do you explain your incorrect call on the election?

re: geodetics - One can correlate the zodiac with areas on the planet, which is called geodetic astrology. Zero degres Aries runs through Greenwich and the signs advance east from there. So Washington DC would have 12 degrees Capricorn at the MC. It would be interesting to to see you taking a position on this, with reasons.
A. I just read a book which definitively proves that the 0 degrees Aries meridian goes through Jerusalem. It's called Astrogeographia by Robert Powell. The thing is, I'm already involved with so many controversial stances (Scorpio Rising US chart, asteroids and Lilith), that I don't feel up to deciphering the geodetic puzzle. National charts work very well, so for the time being I'll stick with those.
re: Snowden relocated - Such a nice, clear statement. I've gone on and on trying to share the same point. I began relocating charts in 1970 before I'd seen an ACG map. They are very useful, especially when doing mundane work, but for the refinement, nothing beats a horoscope.
re: Tornado Alley and ACG maps- Your reasoning about tornados in the U.S. may be correct, but you have an obvious technical error. Or at the very least, your wording misrepresents what an AstroCartoGraphy map is. You say, "[W]hen relocating the U.S. chart to Moore, Oklahoma, Mercury is right on the Midheaven and Pluto is three degrees from the 4th house cusp, the IC." What's wrong is that relocating the chart is irrelevant because relocating the chart does not change the AstroCartoGraphy map in the slightest. An ACG map represents where you would have to relocate to get certain celestial bodies on the angles. You don't have to relocate the original chart to see that.

A. If George were born 32 minutes later, he would be a Leo. Many astrologers have written good profiles on the young prince, so I'll pass on this story. But I hope you enjoy the Royal Succession angle.
re: economic collapse - Of late there are increasing numbers of astrology posts and websites warning of a financial collapse that will soon affect the entire world—not just the US. Many write this collapse will really “kick-in “beginning later this year” and are reporting the financial signs are overwhelmingly obvious now. My question to you is have you looked into this from an astrological standpoint?
A. No, I don't believe financial collapse will be kicking in later this year, especially in the U.S. While the Uranus-Pluto square is certainly cause for concern, in the U.S. chart transiting Saturn and Pluto are harmoniously related to the Scorpio Ascendant, which strengthens America's corporatocracy. Corporations are holding record amounts of cash and reporting strong earnings. Plus, with transiting Jupiter conjoining the U.S. Sun through April 2014, it won't be until after then that any real pullback kicks in, at least in the U.S.
re: economic collapse, cont. - Your response cheered me up considerably because there is a LOT of doom and gloom about an economic collapse later this year. Your info might cheer a LOT of other people as well, and perhaps drive more people to your site because you will be reporting different information than the doom & gloom prognosticators are providing.
A. Unless an astrologer uses the Scorpio Rising national horoscope, the strengthening of the U.S. corporatocracy isn't apparent.

Uranus-Pluto Scrambles
the Washington Power Structure
Last week’s last-minute deal that ended the government shutdown and temporarily averted a debt default brought a collective sigh of relief, although most Americans and especially China – with its $1.3 trillion in U.S. treasury notes -- denounced the dysfunctional political process. As the New York Times dryly noted, “the three-week budget crisis scrambled Washington’s power structure.”
Astrologically, the Uranus-Pluto squares lining up over the next 17 months indicate that the crisis atmosphere will continue. Uranus and Pluto will be forming four exact squares before this outer planet cycle is completed in 2015. The first is on November 1, 2013 and this one has been driving the current antagonists. Although the budget crisis has cooled, the full realization of how irreconcilable congressional factions are may be realized over the coming two weeks.
The next Uranus-Pluto square takes place on April 21, 2014, with the last two on December 14, 2014 and March 16, 2015. We can think of these dates as peaks in waves of political disruption and chaos, especially in the United States where these Uranus-Pluto squares are closely aligned with the U.S. Sun and its square to Saturn. The U.S. Sun-Saturn square can be said to represent the Washington power structure.
The April 21, 2014 Uranus-Pluto square is exceptional for two reasons. First, Uranus and Pluto will be making their closest hit to the U.S. Sun-Saturn square. And second, the Uranus-Pluto square is actually part of a Grand Cross with Mars in Libra and Jupiter in Cancer. This extremely dynamic configuration points to deteriorating cooperation within Congress (how could it get worse?). The intense struggle could have far-reaching damage to U.S. political and economic integrity.
Top Five Astro-Events for November
1. The fourth of seven Uranus-Pluto squares takes place on the 1st, marking the midpoint of this revolutionary, transformative cycle. Individuals with key planets at 8º - 10º range of the cardinal signs are the most likely to be experiencing breakdowns or breakthroughs. Those who have built reliable and authentic structures (professional roles, solid relationships) may expect positive developments and discoveries, while those standing on shaky ground may have to start over.
2. The Solar Eclipse in Scorpio takes place on the 3rd and conjoins authoritarian Saturn. Solar Eclipses often mark the transition of a prominent leader, but this one aligned with Saturn doubles that meaning and may bring the fall of a variety of business, political and military rulers. The coincidental factors of Mercury retrograde and the Uranus-Pluto square can make many wonder, who’s in charge?
3. Mercury turns direct on the 10th while trine Neptune, which is also turning direct. This combination brings clear visions, reliable intuitive insights, and inspired creativity, especially on the 9th, 10th, and 11th. Now more than ever, one can see the future unfolding, and grasp the optimal strategy in business and personal affairs. Pay attention to dreams and synchronicities, begin implementing a new plan.
4. Venus octiles the Sun on the 21st, but is in effect from the 16th through 25th. Venus is in the business-first sign of Capricorn, and when illuminated by the Sun, creates a congenial work environment characterized by attractive styles, charm, and cooperation. This phase is a good time to negotiate, socialize, and enjoy a sense of community. Strong sexual, erotic undercurrents may bring spontaneous attractions.
5. Ceres in Libra opposes Uranus and squares Pluto from the 22nd through the 30th. Those with personal planets in the 8º - 10º of the cardinal signs may feel stress in the relationship department, as significant others prove to be unreliable, erratic, too controlling, or self-destructive. Ceres here moves the individual to participate in more humanitarian activities. Ceres may also bring rescue operations following a natural or human-caused catastrophe.
Cheryl Strayed’s Wild Walkabout
Last week, production began on the upcoming film Wild, starring Reese Witherspoon as Cheryl Strayed. The film is based on Strayed’s New York Times #1 bestseller, which is an autobiographical tale of her self-destructive behavior following the death of her mother. With absolutely no experience, she decides to hike the Pacific Coast Trail on her own, which is terrifying but ultimately, healing.
Cheryl Strayed was born with her analytical Virgo Sun sandwiched between Uranus and Pluto during their conjunction in the mid-1960s (September 17, 1968; Spangler, PA; time unknown). This high voltage, energizing combination encouraged her to excel from an early age, and was given strength by Mars in heroic Leo trine Saturn. However, an idealistic Mercury-Venus conjunction in Libra opposes Saturn, challenging her to find the right vehicle for her writing* (Mercury) and her relationships (Venus).
In March 1991, while she was a senior in college, Strayed’s mother died, which she calls her “genesis story.” At the time, the slowly developing Uranus-Neptune conjunction was squaring her Mercury-Venus-Saturn configuration, which led to the breaking down of her sexual allegiance to her husband and the beginning of some wild sexual experiences. Her alpha female status rapidly disintegrated under the influence of heroin and random promiscuity.
Strayed personifies the breakdown, breakthrough pattern of the Uranus-Pluto cycle. Her book about her hike along the Pacific Crest Trail recalls the personal struggles that compelled her to take the grueling walkabout. Strayed’s story has wide appeal for women trying to make it in a patriarchal society while being true to themselves. Her chart contains an important octile between Black Moon Lilith and Saturn, underscoring the inherent conflict between patriarchy and natural feminine sexuality and instincts.
