re: Pluto in Leo generation - How is the Pluto in Capricorn going to affect the people who have the Uranus Pluto conjunction in Virgo? I saw the article Donna Cunningham did on the Pluto in Leo generation.
re: Reeva Steencamp - So if we knew her birth time, would it be easier to see something definitive, death-wise? You are being clear enough. But golly, these transits touch a lot of people and they don't die. Everyone born the same day as she was, for instance, didn't die when she did. You've talked, in the past, about the nodes being involved when someone dies, too.
A. Her choice to be with Oscar Pistorius creates another perspective of her life, and that's how her planets interact with his. The martial influences are overwhelming, and they exacerbate her own Mars-Juno square.
re: Monsanto - I am on your site several times a week to glean your astrological insights into current events and personalities and find your analysis very insightful. I just read an article on the Yahoo Financial page where Monsanto is suing a 75 year old grain farmer from Indiana, Vernon Bowman for $84,456. claiming he is using seeds that were developed by Monsanto and not signing the patent protection agreement which Monsanto closely guards.... The case is now going to the Supreme Court. I am wondering if you could run a chart on Monsanto and share your insights into this upcoming case.

Iraq's dinar - Love your weekly review. I want to ask about a curious currency issue that seems to be blooming. I am sure your readers would enjoy your take on the timing of this event when the Iraqi Dinar rises in value. Just in the last 2 weeks another major oil deposit was discovered
not to mention that their gold reserves have had a major increase... so if they can get their act together... how do you see this as to timing for investors?
re: Keth Urban - I read the page on Mariah as America's Favorite Diva and noted her work on American Idol. Actually, the person getting a lot of press is country singer Keith Urban, also on AI. He's an interesting character who's made real inroads in his career due to his work on Australia's The Voice show and now AI. Both transiting Mars and Neptune now trine his natal Sun, adding to the showbiz/glamour factor. But it's tr. Pluto that's interesting to study: it's opposite his Asc--nearly exact right now. I think his would be an interesting chart to investigate!
re: Tim Cooks' birth time - I wonder why in the US nobody has raised the question that the law does not allow access to birth certificate records, how is it possible? Here in Italy it is not so. Which privacy is there to protect? One has the right to know when someone is born or not??? The scientists should be in favour of the publicity of birth times, so they can continue to debunk the astrologers!!! Or, keeping concealed birth times is a way to impede the general public in knowing many things regarding public figures, politicians etc. This is against the right to know!
You american astrologers should start a campaign for this, in my opinion!

Inauguration - I've always read about how if the President is sworn in during a moon void of course that he will have trouble being effective during his term, and that this was the case for Obama last term. I have just read that he was privately sworn in at 11:55am EST, just *before* the moon void! Any thoughts for your column? As a Dem, I'm thrilled to see this, and hope this will empower the Prez to route those untoward Republicans, who just sit on their hands, seemingly out of spite or racism or craziness.

A. The Inauguration chart, set for noon, was posted and described in NewsScope's December 31, 2012 issue. The Moon makes one final square to Mars before going void of course, which does in deed push Obama into action.
re: Salopek - I enjoyed reading about Paul Salopek, mostly because my best friend's birthday is also Feb 9, 1962. She's one of the Aqua-stells as well. Her stellium falls in her 4th house though so she's all about her family, and her challenges lately have been about teenagers!
A. That week in February 1962 has some notoriety, since psychic Jeanne Dixon predicted that the "anti-Christ" would be born during the New Moon on February 4, 1962. Later, she changed her mind and said it would be the second coming of Jesus. Sheryl Crowe was born on February 11, 1962, Jennifer Jason Leigh was born on febraury 5, 1962, and King Abdullah II of Jordan was born on January 30, 1962.
re: Hillary Clinton - Do you see anything in hillary clinton's chart as a sign of her current health problems?
A. Yes, she's going through a handful of challenging Saturn transits and progressions: transiting Saturn has been conjunct her Sun, progressed Mercury to Saturn, progressed Moon to Saturn, and more. These are indications that she needs a rest. The unexpected accident happened as her progressed Midheaven was exactly trioctile Uranus -- exhaustion and over-work allow these mishaps into our lives.

re: economy - Will you please do year 2013 and its overall effects in our lives, finances as we the people depend on the whims of congress which has NO idea what they want to do. As a senior citizen, i respect your work and read it every week and would like to read about this if it is possible.
re: rightwingers - I enjoy your NewsScope segment. I find it very interesting that two of the highest profile uncompromising right wingers share this energy. Eric Cantor has a Sun opposition Moon both square Pluto. (The NRA's Wayne) LaPierre has Moon opposed Pluto both Square the Sun. These two will never look for common ground.

Energy Independence and Global Warming
New, vastly more comprehensive research into climate change was published last week in the journal Science, where a team of researchers concluded that if present trends continue, the earth will be warmer than it ever has been by the year 2100. Meanwhile, the oil industry predicts that the U.S. could be energy independent by 2020 due to fracking and other extraction advances.
With a cluster of planets currently in Pisces, the sectors of human experience that resonates with this sign have come to our full attention. The isolation of rogue nations is one manifestation, as personified by North Korea’s supreme leader, Kim Jong Un. The selection of the next pope is another, as the patriarchy grapples with an awakened feminine consciousness and unsanctified forms of sexual expression.
Kim Jong Un’s Saturn Return
All the menacing diplomatic tactics coming out of North Korea during Kim Jong Il’s 17-year reign have been re-introduced over the past year by his son and successor, Kim Jong Un. Last week the hostile tempo quickened when North Korea threatened to launch a pre-emptive nuclear attack on the United States, although it doesn’t yet possess the missile technology to accomplish this invasion.
With a Mars-Pluto conjunction in his 10th house of career, Kim Jong Un’s horoscope (January 8, 1984; 7:00 am*; Pyong-yang, NK) reveals a hot-tempered tough guy who has to prove that he’s no pushover. As a Capricorn going through his first Saturn Return, Kim is attempting to establish control over his own destiny and secure his place at the top of North Korea’s military establishment.
His progressed Moon entered Aries on February 8, 2013, which is a reliable indicator for increased aggression. Only four days later, North Korea conducted a nuclear test that demonstrated improving technology and severely undermined regional stability. Currently, Kim’s progressed Moon is squaring his Mercury, which in turn, is sextile his Mars-Pluto conjunction. This accounts for the antagonistic rhetoric, but is it a real threat?
The ruler of Kim’s Midheaven (signifying his international status) is Venus, and it’s conjunction with Uranus in the 12th house points to a personality that feels naturally isolated. And this Venus-Uranus pair squares his Pisces Moon, a configuration which refers to emotional rejection and feelings of abandonment. This psychologically disturbed personality closely mirrors the status of North Korea. The transiting Uranus-Pluto square is heading for Kim’s Sun over the next few years, which promises that he will continue to be extremely provocative.

America’s corporate power in general has been dramatically escalating under the influence of Saturn sextile Pluto, an aspect which became exact last week when the Dow hit an all-time high. The shift from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius might well be measured by the dominance of the oil industry. Those who urge a shift toward alternative energy sources, like the kind that turn the Sun’s energy into electricity, are manifesting the emerging Age of Aquarius.
Pisces is the sign astrologers associate with emotional duality. The oil industry’s push for energy independence and the environment-
alists’ need to lessen greenhouse gasses to prevent global warming are mutually defeating propositions. Neptune’s transit through its own sign Pisces is empowering the oil industry. This will be especially true between now and 2020 when transiting Neptune trines the U.S. Scorpio Ascendant as well as the U.S. Venus, Jupiter and Sun in Cancer.

Bernadette’s Story
One of the most famous Catholic pilgrimage sites is Lourdes, France, where in 1858 a young woman named Bernadette saw and spoke with an entity who called herself the Immaculate Conception. Every year, some 5 million pilgrims visit Lourdes, a village of only 15,000. Although investigators were initially skeptical, in 1933 Pope Pius XI declared her a saint and deemed her visions “worthy of belief.”
Bernadette was born with her Capricorn Sun square Pluto in Aries (January 7, 1844; 9:20 am*; Lourdes, FR), a combination which severely tested her vitality and well-being, but also brought her the most profound transcendent experience imaginable. Neptune on the Aquarius Ascendant squares Ceres in the 9th house of religion, an apt signature for a religious vision of Mother Mary. Ceres is further empowered by a trine to Mars in mystical Pisces.
* Her actual birth time is unknown. The 9:20 am time used here is speculative, and emphasizes the Ceres-Neptune square, her 12th house placements, and the position of her progressed Moon during her visions.
Bernadette’s electrifying visions lasted from February 11 to July 16, 1858, a period that coincided with her progressed Mars-Uranus conjunction in the last degree of Pisces. All these wondrous visions took place the last time transiting Neptune was in Pisces, and in Bernadette’s case, Neptune was squaring her North Node in religious Sagittarius. Transiting Uranus was trine her 12th house Saturn, which awakened her unwanted role as a spiritual authority.
Black Moon Lilith plays a central role in Bernadette’s story. By transit, Lilith and Ceres were conjunct in her 10th house during this series of visions: Lilith was combining her mysticism with the sacred mother archetype. Also, a transiting Jupiter-Pluto conjunction landed on her natal Lilith, religiously empowering this feisty, dark feminine goddess. With transiting Saturn opposing her natal Saturn during this entire episode, she received much criticism and flak from the Catholic hierarchy. As depicted in the 1943 film, The Song of Bernadette, such defiance was formerly threatened with burning at the stake.
