re: guns and Lilith - Had a chill go up my spine when the breaking news of the LAX shooting hit today. I had just read the article this morning on Neptunecafe relating BML to guns in the USA Scorpio rising chart. Caused me to check the tri-wheel for the US chart and sure enough the transiting Moon is on the progressed Mean Black Moon Lilith at 15 Libra. Wow!
re: top five - First the 4th U-P square on the 1st, then the eclipse on the 3rd, then Merc going direct trine Neptune: Does this bode well for the ACA (Obamacare) going through a difficult transformation, and coming out much more positively later in the month, much as the administration is saying? I hope so. I know too many people who need reliable health coverage for this to fail. As always, great info on your site.

A. I use SolarFire to create the charts, and then fine-tune those and add some artistic touches with some very simple graphics software, so it's a combination.
re: neptunecafe - I really like reading and thinking about your articles; they offer the best information on the internet. Recently I read about the asteroid Juno. Please help me understand it better in my chart.
A. Juno and Venus are both about relationships. Juno is more interested in forming a long term commitment than Venus, while Venus is interested in sex, romance, and intimacy. If Venus and Juno are harmoniously aspected in your chart, you can marry for love, otherwise commitments may suffer from wandering affections. You can get a full description of your natal Juno and the other three major asteroids (Ceres, Vesta, and Pallas) by ordering an Asteroid Goddess Report.

re: Tea Party - The current articles at NeptuneCafe are more indicative of a well written article with less COMMENTARY compared to other articles around the net that had me so dismayed---until you get to the Tea party nasty-ass comments. As a former upstate (Communist state of) New York Tea Party Founder and Leader during the 2010 mid-terms, I have to wonder how many Tea Party people like myself you may know. If you met me in person, would you hate me and call me the kinds of things you call the Tea Party?
re: Tea Party - I have gone searching for astrologers who do political astrology...but have been sorely disappointed so far because of the liberal/progressives being so hateful towards anything that they don't like which is usually anything about FREE MARKET CAPITALISM, Freedom, Constitutional, etc. They are all for SOCIAL JUSTICE which has a communist history of its own.
re: Ted Cruz - Your assessment on him is incorrect. Saturn in Scorpio will cause him to "Crash and Burn", politically speaking..
re: Ted Cruz - The stellium of 8th house planets (3 of them in Scorpio, natural ruler of the 8th house) can indicate he would do well with and for other people's money. But can it also lead to life-threatening plots against him? Cruz does have 1st house chiron (which I find to be a little worrisome) opposed 7th house of open enemies Uranus but it is not quite in orb.
Yes Sun Pluto can have a 'fascination' with power. But Cruz' 'fascination with power' may indicate his ability to work successfully with power and his 7th house/Libra placement of planets shows indomitable ability towards discernment and fairness - and holding the line.
I suspect that balancing the budget and refusing the debt ceiling will be next on his list - which might upset a lot of people who want the 'free' goodies to continue, caring not what debt they straddle future generations with - but we will see.

re: slant - I really enjoy your site and send the link to many people frequently. You would be a person I would trust on the astrology of the US and how it will probably be consumed for the next 100 or so years under socialists/communists /progressives----but only IF you would write it with NO SLANT whatsoever. You are better than the rest, that is certain. As a metaphysical conservative - I am an anomaly. But, I still think that there is an answer someplace within astrology for why this is happening.... hoping you will go in depth at some point SOON on what our future may hold as foretold by the heavens.

re: Miley Cyrus data - Love your Neptune Café blog.... What is your source for that Miley Cyrus' birthday? Astrodatabank has 6:37 am, but it looks like a solar rising chart to me. Their source is some comment on facebook.

A. If George were born 32 minutes later, he would be a Leo. Many astrologers have written good profiles on the young prince, so I'll pass on this story. But I hope you enjoy the Royal Succession angle.

Now that women account for 60% of all college and graduate degrees, the number of women CEOs is bound to change dramatically over the coming years. Currently, only 22 CEOs in the Fortune 500 are women (4.4%), reflecting a testosterone-driven corporate culture. Last week General Motors’ outgoing CEO announced that Mary Barra would replace him, putting GM ahead of this inevitable social trend.
This biwheel segment shows North Korea's natal chart on the inside and the progressions on the outside. Since NK became independent in 1948, progressed Mercury has advanced from 10º Libra to 6º Scorpio where it conjoins the Descendant.
Ms. Barra was born with her Sun in the business-first sign of Capricorn (December 24, 1961; Waterford, Michigan; time unknown), a placement energized by a conjunction with Mars and given communication skills by a conjunction with Mercury. Her Sun also forms a trine to Uranus and Pluto in detail-oriented Virgo, adding a strong work ethic, and an interest in innovative technology.
Barra’s Moon in regal Leo adds self-confidence and a warm personality, making her a natural leader. However, her Moon makes an out-of-sign opposition to Saturn, indicating that she faced an entrenched institutional system with a glass ceiling. All that changed in 2009 when GM filed for bankruptcy. At the time, transiting Pluto was conjunct her Sun, and the new GM recognized her talent and began grooming her for upper management.
As USA Today noted, women are the principle decision-makers in 80% of vehicle purchases in America, so putting a woman in charge is just common sense. Yet it wouldn’t have happened until transformative Pluto entered Capricorn, leading to a fundamental change in corporate America. When she takes over on January 15, 2014, transiting Pluto will trine her Ceres in Taurus, empowering her to manage GM’s financial stability and steady growth.
North Korea’s Generational Shift
In traditional astrology, Mercury is often associated with a young person, or more broadly, youth in general. This designation currently has significance in North Korea’s horoscope (September 10, 1948; 8:50 pm; Pyongyang) since by secondary progression, Mercury recently entered the 7th house. This astro-event describes the arrival of the young Kim Jong Un on the scene, and his interests in a generational change of power.
Last week’s execution of Kim’s uncle, General Jang, has analysts scratching their heads, wondering if this is the final stage of his ascendancy or just the beginning of opposition to his rule. Over the last two years, North Korea’s progressed Mars has activated the natal Moon-Jupiter conjunction in the 8th house of inherited power. During this time, Kim demoted or purged most of the elderly advisors he inherited from his father.
Although progressed Mars has completed this aspect, more trouble lies ahead. This can be seen in the conditions surrounding the natal
Mercury-Neptune conjunction, a planetary signature also found in China’s chart. Mercury-Neptune combinations tend to create and promote their own truth, which can take the form of lofty ideals, slogans, and propaganda. Currently, Mercury-Neptune seems to be manifesting as the process of idealizing (Neptune) youth (Mercury).
Over the last year, transiting Uranus and Pluto have been aligning with North Korea’s Mercury-Neptune, stimulating the promotion of a younger generation of lieutenants. This dynamic continues throughout 2014, and is magnified since the transiting Uranus-Pluto square also aligns with NK’s progressed Ascendant at 14º Cancer. Other indicators (progressed Jupiter opposite Uranus, transiting Saturn conjunct progressed Sun) tell us that we are just at the beginning of an internal power struggle that could easily spill over the borders.
Michael Redmond, Go Master
Last week the third World Mind Games opened in Beijing, a quadrennial event that received little notice in the United States, but was greeted with enthusiasm throughout Asia. Teams and individuals compete in five categories, including weiqi, known in English as “go”. Michael Redmond, the only top-rated professional go player in the west, acted as the TV commentator for the go games.
Redmond was born with his Sun in the cerebral sign of Gemini (May 25, 1963; Santa Barbara, CA; time unknown), where it picks up a penchant for the unusual by a square to Uranus. His Mars in heroic Leo opposes Saturn (also found in Michael Jordan’s chart), an aspect that tends to be keenly competitive and thrives in dangerous situations. Since this polarity squares Mercury, the natural outlet is in mind games.
The game of go used to be taught in Asian military schools as a way of introducing strategic global perspectives and pattern recognition skills. The asteroid Pallas is directly associated with these traits and is strongly placed in Redmond’s chart. His Pallas forms a beneficial trine to Jupiter in pioneering Aries, giving him exceptional vision, which in go, is the ability to recognize developing shapes.
Redmond’s Sun squares Pluto, adding an intense desire to dominate in his profession. After surpassing all American and European players, he went on to write books and comment during go tournaments for NHK, Japan’s public TV station. As he’s grown older, his Ceres has kicked in, so that he aims to guide and teach this immensely popular Asian board game. Last week transiting Pluto was trine his Ceres-Pluto as he broadcast his trenchant commentary for the World Mind Games.
