re: astrology rising - Actually, I don't "believe" in Astrology! I tell people: "It is not a Religion. It is not something to 'believe' in." It is simply Plane Geometry -- the study of repetitive geometrical patterns. Particular patterns will repeat themselves, often with the same results. That is where we, Astrologers, get our predictions from.
re: America's plutocracy - I'm struck by the sudden blockbuster best seller "Capital in the 21st Century" by Thomas Piketty. As an exposition of our current economic situation and trending direction, could this book be major force for change?
re: Susan Miller - Interesting to see Susan's chart. I used to work for her, and have met her in person as well a couple of times. Yes, she is one of the hardest working astrologers out there. She told me that she has a keen interest in how words work together, and she had very definite views of how to craft a sentence. For example, she also said to never use 'ing' in a sentence

re: Wal-Mart - Thanks so much for all you do. I especially enjoyed the Wal-Mart story. Wal-Mart is a major contemporary symbol of the US psychic landscape, at least for the common people of the US. I note the perfect conjunction between Wal-Mart's natal Mars and the USA's natal Pluto (and ruling planet). What do you think of that?
A. Yes, that's a major connection. The U.S. Pluto, the nation's ruling planet, describes the power of corporate America, and Wal-Mart is a major manifestation of that, a corporate warrior, if you will.
re: Wal-Mart - Wal-Mart's Saturn is also being eclipsed by the Solar Eclipse on the 28th. And its opposing its Sun as well. I don't think eclipses to Saturn are viewed as beneficial.
re: Colbert - I love Stephen Colbert! In his case, we can see how Saturn rewards hard work. You get what you deserve with Saturn. What he started 14 years ago has reached full flower and will now transition into something new.
re: America's plutocracy - I especially love your last line in the "Rise of America's Plutocracy" post. Yes, that and more. At least a few of us have noticed... It looks like the April 15 "Blood Moon" will be one degree off of both my Sun in Aries, and Moon in Libra. I'm thinking about staying "under the covers," but that doesn't seem to be what your advice is.
re: America's plutocracy - It's turning out more Brave New World than 1984 in some ways... I am constantly shocked by how much pharma my American friends ingest... and it's happening here too in the UK. The only thing that has put the brakes on it is the NHS, and that's not for a good reason, but simply because the government is cheapskate.... Yes -- Pluto is winning the Uranus-Pluto square at the moment...

re: MH370 - Just wanted to share a few comments & questions about the current mystery regarding the missing plane from some fellow astrologers. Like you, we feel that hidden hands set this in motion and that the plane is most likely not in the ocean but landed & hidden for now in another country pending some future action. We have been following the moon in the departure chart to watch the revelations & false starts to current hunt in south Indian sea under the recent Scorpio moon 12th house of that chart then into Sag... high hopes dashed back to square one for the hunt.
So our questions to you... when do you think the world will start searching on land... who do you think will solve this & how long do you feel this could drag on.. lastly we feel not so good about the outcome for the passengers long term... do you agree?
A. The technique of making forecasts about developments in the case based on the transits to the Departure chart is solid. For example, the last communication at 1:30 am happened as the Moon in Gemini reached the Descendant. I suspect transiting Saturn's square to Mercury relates to bad news about the prospects.
re: Grace and Nicole - Sorry to say Wolfstar but you are DEAD WRONG about Nicole Kidman not possessing the “depth of feeling and smoldering sexuality” of Grace Kelly. As a graduate of the performing arts (in acting) with three degrees in both film and theater, it is painfully obvious to me that you have not seen all of Ms. Kidman’s films nor her performances on the stage. If you had, you would never have made such a BLUNDERING STATEMENT!

re: Elizabeth Warren - Glad you brought up Elizabeth Warren and her possible presidential run but really, do you have to join the Anybody But Hillary Bandwagon? I have yet to understand the hostility which both right and left wing pundits seem to hold towards her. It is not a product of her political actions but seems personal and malicious. I know of no other politician who has such critical, and pointless, scrutiny of her every action. You could at least try to maintain a veneer of civility towards her.

re: First Trade charts - I know you have written some things about first trade charts in your NewsScope column, but they seem contradictory. For YHOO you use 9:30 AM even though Michael Munkasey's Companies Database has 9:48 AM. For FB you used 11:30 AM. For BIDU you used 11:40 AM. Do you mostly use the actual time of the trade? Why one instead of the other? Have you tried researching the issue with many stocks? The problem with making predictions with FT charts is their complexity. Not only do you have to look at the natal chart, but both the P2 and P3 charts.
A. Your observations on FT charts are on target. I've been studying these charts ofr at least three years, but not until I got Munkasey's database did I realize that so many FTs are not set for 9:30 am. I analyzed YHOO and wrote about before I got his database, but have been using 9:48 since then. It's a real challenge to understand how the transits and P2 and P3 charts interact, but worth the effort. When the same message appears on all three levels, you get a strong indication of a big move and the direction.
re: Hillary and Neptune - You wrote about the physically weakening influence of Hillary's upcoming Neptune transits, but isn't it the case that Americans do kinda like Neptunian leaders? Isn't it also the case that she can come across as being too tyrannical? Couldn't Neptune softening her be a benefit...make her more appealing?
A. Yes, Neptune softens, and may have other effects. A prominent Neptune may be associated with deception, poor advice from her lieutenants, misinformation, and most likely, promising more than she can keep.
re: Donald Sterling - Your evaluation of Donald Sterling is outstanding. I live here in Southern California and have been glued to the coverage of Sterling and the Clippers since the news broke. Underscoring the generational and cultural impacts of Sterling’s Pluto in Cancer era makes the analysis more meaningful. We can we can “see” Sterling through his own historical lens and thus comprehend the origins of his belief system more readily. Too many astrologers neglect the importance of this.

Black Moon Lilith at the U.S. Midheaven
A reader asks, “Lilith is transiting over the USA Midheaven in the next couple of weeks. Have you noticed any patterns related to this transit? Hollywood sex scandals, perhaps? Since Lilith goes around every nine years, it must have gone over the USA MC some 25 times before this.”
Of course, Lilith does not operate in isolation, but I checked the last three times this happened, and there does appear to be a common theme related to political scandals. The last occurrence took place on September 20, 2005 and the major news of the day was about the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina which had hit New Orleans some three weeks earlier. The Bush administration was heavily criticized for its lack of leadership during this enormous national crisis.
The previous Lilith cycle took place in mid-November 1996. O.J. Simpson was on trial and denying he killed his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson. And unknown to the public at the time, Monica Lewinski was having secret liasons with Bill Clinton in the Oval Office. And backwards another Lilith cycle, we come to January 1988: Ronald Reagan is president and the Iran-Contra scandal is the major story of the day.
Later this month, on the same day as the New Moon in Leo, Lilith will once again conjoin the U.S. Midheaven at 16º Leo. This transit carries extra weight since transiting Saturn and Uranus are also at 16º of their signs (Scorpio and Aries). Already shaping up is House Speaker John Boehner’s plan to file a lawsuit against President Obama for his executive actions. Boehner says that Obama is exercising “king-like authority.”
Elizabeth Warren, a Rising Star
In recent polls, Elizabeth Warren has repeatedly come in as the #2 choice for Democrats in the next presidential election cycle. Last week, the senator from Massachusetts went to Kentucky to stump for Senate candidate Alison Lundgren Grimes. Later this month she’ll be visiting West Virginia to support Natalie Tennant. Warren is expressing an issue-specific populism that may sneak up on Hillary’s left.
Elizabeth Warren was born with her Cancer Sun closely conjunct Uranus (June 22, 1949; Oklahoma City, OK; time unknown), which would align her with the progressive Uranian side of the current Uranus-Pluto square. Her willingness to check dirty coal, stand up to the big banks, and fight for the common people rather than the plutocrats puts her squarely in the liberal camp as she personifies the Uranian urge for social justice and equality.
Warren does have a Plutonian side since her Pluto squares her Moon in financially savvy Taurus. Before she became a politician, she made her way as a financial analyst and gave money advice on Oprah – a career in line with her Moon exalted in Taurus (which is also sextile Venus). Jupiter in Aquarius forms a tight quincunx (150º) to her Sun-Uranus pair, adding tremendous potential to become an instant celebrity.
In other words, she could come out of nowhere and blindside Hillary’s campaign. Without an exact birth time, it’s difficult to speculate what Warren’s chances are. However, she does have a progressed Juno-Pluto conjunction at 16º Leo, which happens to coincide with the nation’s Midheaven at 16º Leo. This suggests that she will at least be a strong presence on the national stage over the coming year. Also, her progressed Saturn is squaring natal Mars, indicating she’s looking for a fight. Will it be against the plutocrats or Hillary Clinton? Maybe both….
Kim Kardashian, #1 Fashion Trendsetter
Last week People magazine reported that Kim Kardashian has the most influential style when it comes to U.S. trendsetters and fashion. Designers say that Kardashian is more of a sales driver than Kate Middleton, and is especially influential when it comes to hair and make-up trends. Kardashian has been in the news lately for her whirlwind marriage and tour with rapper Kanye West.
Kim Kardashian was born with her Libra Sun conjunct Black Moon Lilith and Pluto (October 21, 1980; 10:46 am; Los Angeles, CA). Libras are famed for their aesthetic sense and partnership patterns, and in Kim’s case, these are all infused with psychological depth and intensity by Pluto, and the magic of the dark side through Lilith. Kardashian initially became famous through a leaked sex tape, and she’s thrived on scandal ever since.
The tight square between Venus and Neptune, with their proximity to the Midheaven and Ascendant, is the major dynamic driving KK’s fashion sense, her interest in modeling, and her romantic adventures. What turns Venus into a business magnate is her Jupiter-Saturn conjunction right on the Midheaven, which gives her the ambition and opportunity to open many lines of perfume and clothing.
Transiting Pluto is now conjunct her progressed Ascendant, which has brought a major personal transformation via her marriage to Kanye West. With Gemini on her 7th house cusp, Mercury is the ruler of her partnership house. Transiting Saturn will be making its third pass over her Mercury over the next two months, testing whether she and Kanye have made the right move. They will probably get by that hurdle, but then transiting Uranus (the divorce planet) opposes KK’s Sun-Lilith-Pluto over the following 2-3 years.
